DIY Review: Antibacterial Kitchen Spray

DIY Review: Antibacterial Kitchen Spray

After hours of going through recipes I found this one…
2 cups water (hot)
¼ cup borax
3 tbsp. vinegar
5 tbsp. lemon juice
5 tsp. lemon grass verbena oil

First off, they weren’t kidding about using hot water. I used “a little warmer than warm” water and I had a time getting the borax to dissolve the way I wanted it to. Once I did though, I liked what I saw. The cleaner didn’t smell like headache inducing Lysol that had been in the bottle before. It was much fresher. I immediately ran into one problem though…. The cleaner bubbled when I tried to use the spray side of the bottle and wouldn’t come out uniformly. When I used the stream side we were all good. It cleans very well, and I will continue to use it. I have a slight reservation about just how anti-bacterial it is. I’m sure that’s just from the fact that the hospital smell is associated with germ free to me rather than lemony lemongrass.
